My name is Thomas Otter.

I’m a research director at Gartner, and I cover the Human Capital Management -HR technology space. Before joining Gartner, I worked at SAP. I also blog over on the Gartner blog network. You can also view my latest research here. My personal blog is here.

I’m also doing a PhD part-time, ie really slowly at Karlsruhe university here in Germany. I’m focusing on the relationship between enterprise software and law; mixing up stuff like Sarbanes Oxley’s impact on IT spend and Facebook and privacy. This blog will track my survey, which is a small part of the PhD research.
I’m married and have three young children. My better half, Charlotte blogs on life in Germany.
I ride a fancy bicycle extremely slowly.
The comments on this blog are my own individual views, rather than those of my employer. I won`t disclose anything I shouldn’t.
